Geneva Ice, No Fountain, No People
Geneva Ice, No Fountain, No People - Sculptural Watercolour® by Prue Bishop, 50 x 70 x 4.5 cm S16, 2011. Digital.
The Artist explains "This phenomenon as the title suggests was true in January 2012. We had had a freak cold spell with temperatures dropping to daytime -9C (16F). We had returned from a visit to the the Mont Blanc region and as the sun was setting a saturated pink over the city, we parked and witnessed the entire lake and paquais completely deserted and frozen solid. This unique situation was recorded by photographers from around Europe. Books were published to feature frozen spray from the lake. But the most remarkable feature for me was no people."
