Sculptural Watercolor Original Painting, Fine Art Print, Swiss Alpine Art, Climate Change, Mountain Collapse

This is an unfolding catastrophe. The mountainside is cracking apart, and massive slabs of rock have begun sliding downward. Two large fragments have already reached the road, which is breaking apart under the immense pressure. Dark storm clouds loom, signaling more rain—a precursor to the inevitable destruction.

Inspired by real events in Brienz, Switzerland, where an entire village was evacuated in June 2023 due to an imminent rockslide, this Sculptural Watercolour® by Prue Bishop captures the fragility of mountain landscapes. The piece reflects how melting permafrost, extreme rainfall, and human activity are accelerating mountainside collapses worldwide.

🚧 A Warning from Nature

In mountain regions, roads and villages constantly face the threat of landslides. Work crews clear fallen boulders from roads, but sometimes, disaster strikes without warning. This artwork reminds us that as the planet warms and weather patterns intensify, collapses like these will become increasingly common.
