Lac Leman Rhone Valley
Lake Léman and Fog-Shrouded Rhône Valley from near Les Avants
Sculptural Watercolour® | 2011 | 50 x 50 x 4.5 cm
Original painting and signed mounted prints and a framed mounted print available
The artist captures the majestic view above the eastern end of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman), looking down from the slopes between Les Avants and Chernex, just above Montreux. Below, the broad sweep of the Rhône Valley is veiled in soft early-morning mist, its gentle contours fading into the haze. Beyond, the ridge line features the Tour d’Aï, a high point in the Leysin ski area, anchoring the horizon.
This Sculptural Watercolour® by Prue Bishop combines layered paper techniques with fine watercolour washes to evoke depth, light, and atmosphere—distilling the essence of this high vantage point above Switzerland’s most iconic lake.
